Michael Smith, CEO
Michael provides our corporate directives and direction. In addition to overseeing the company Michael manages vendor relations and long term strategy for Western Systems.

Robert Nims, President
Robert's primary duties include project management, estimating, system design and account management. He has an expertise in signal controls, software and field devices. Robert has been involved in the transportation industry since 1990. He has provided regional support for Siemens ITS and Eagle Traffic Control Systems since 1993.

John Brannan, Director of Sales and Technical Support
John specializes in technical support to customers for all types of controls and field devices with primary emphasis on Siemens & Iteris. As manager of a traffic signal maintenance company for six years John provided 24/7 support for a wide range of systems including TS1’s, TS2’s and 170’s. Clients appreciate John’s consultative approach, helping clients keep up with the latest technologies they can benefit from as well as providing preventative maintenance.

John is certified by Siemens and Iteris. He served two years as a moderator and officer in the Arizona section of the International Municipal Signal Association (IMSA). He has been in the traffic signal industry since 1996. John has a degree in Electronic Manufacturing and holds an IMSA level III certification in traffic signals.

Mike Taylor, ATMS Manager
Mike Taylor has 11 years of ITS and traffic signal experience ranging from automated reversible lane systems, Adaptive Signal Control deployments for FHWA, Light Rail and Priority applications, UPS systems, signal maintenance and management and operational strategies. He joins Western Systems after performing the duties of National Field Operations Manager for Siemens and previous to that designing and building the Intelligent Traffic Management System for the City of Lynnwood. His conscientiousness, perseverance, out of the box thinking and work ethic will be a perfect complement to the already strong team at Western Systems.

Tom Rivard, Production Manager
Tom oversees our cabinet design, manufacturing, and field service/support departments. He has been in the traffic industry since 1981 and has extensive experience including cabinets, controllers, and intersection displays. Tom is certified by Siemen’s and Iteris and is also IMSA Level II Certified.

Adela Taylor, Operations Manager
Adela is in charge of business operations. She has extensive experience in manufacturing management and quality assurance systems. Adela has a degree in Industrial Technology and is Lean Manufacturing Certified.

Zachary L. Hoiting, Territory Manager
Zach's responsibilities include technical sales for all products that Western Systems offers in the Northwest. He has a strong understanding of traffic hardware, software and field devices. Zach manages sales in East, Olympic, Southwest and South Central and Southeast Washington.

Kevin Hanson, Territory Manager
Kevin has been in the ITS industry since 1990. Kevin has a degree in Electronic Instrumentation. He holds patents on products in the ITS industry. Kevin provides technical consultative support in the traffic industry. Kevin is based in Idaho and manages sales in Idaho, Montana and Eastern Oregon.

Tim Sullivan, Territory Manager
Tim started in our industry designing and selling electrical service equipment for traffic signals. Eventually migrating into traffic signal control equipment technical support and sales, Tim has broad-based experience and knowledge related to traffic signal equipment. Tim is based in Northern California and manages sales in that state from the Oregon border to the Kings County line.

Arlene Wiles-Revell, Estimator
20 years of experience in this field of traffic signal estimating. She is familiar with local and statewide specifications and requirements. She is looking forward to assisting you.
