The OBU is compatible with custom applications and external vehicle systems, through being built on a modular platform that supports seamless integration with vehicle systems via CAN and Ethernet interfaces. It also offers API access, allowing developers to build and deploy custom applications and connect external sensors for enhanced functionality.
What are the OBU’s power requirements?
The On-Board Unit (OBU) operates on a 12V power supply and consumes less than 22 watts, making it’s power requirements suitable for a wide range of in-vehicle power environments.
What users is the OBU designed for?
The OBU is specifically designed for original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), fleet operators, and connected vehicle developers. The OBU is not designed for direct installation by end users or consumers.
How are firmware and configuration handled on the OBU?
All firmware and configuration parameters, including power output and frequency settings, are pre-configured by DENSO. These settings are locked and cannot be modified by end users post production.
