ITS California 2026: See Smarter Transportation in Action in Sacramento

The ITS California 31st Annual Conference & Exhibition is bringing transportation professionals together in Sacramento from September 27 through 30, 2026. This year’s conference will focus on many of the technologies and challenges shaping intelligent transportation today, from connected vehicles and AI to traffic signal operations, communications, safety, and system resiliency.

Western Systems will be there at Booth #106 with interactive demonstrations and transportation technologies designed to help agencies build safer, smarter, and more connected transportation systems.

What to Expect at ITS California 2026

ITS California’s annual conference combines technical sessions with live demonstrations, an exhibit hall, networking events, training, tours, and opportunities to connect directly with transportation technology providers.

This year’s program includes sessions covering connected transportation, AI, freeway operations, traffic signal priority, data-driven safety, cybersecurity, ITS collaboration, and emerging transportation technologies. For Western Systems, those conversations closely align with the technologies our team and partners work with every day.

Test the Technology with Interactive Demos at Booth #106

This year Western Systems will feature interactive demonstrations at Booth #106 where attendees can get a closer look at technology for:

  • AI detection and data analytics
  • Adaptive traffic control
  • Traffic management
  • Connected vehicles
  • Traffic signal cabinets
  • Backup power solutions
  • Communications
  • Intelligent safety solutions

The Western Systems booth will bring multiple parts of the transportation network together so attendees can see how technology can move from individual devices to more connected corridor solutions.

Test It On-Site: Explore Currux, INRIX, Yunex Traffic, SYO and RUGGEDCOM Technology

Currux Vision

Currux Vision brings AI and computer vision into traffic detection and analytics. Western Systems offers Currux solutions for applications including vehicle classification, speed measurement, pedestrian and bicycle detection, incident detection, and connected vehicle applications. ITS California attendees will have an opportunity to see how these capabilities can support smarter decisions at intersections and across transportation networks.

INRIX

Western Systems and INRIX are working together to bring mobility analytics into Western Systems’ intelligent transportation portfolio. INRIX Signal Analytics uses connected vehicle data to provide insights into traffic signal operations and network performance.

Western Systems and INRIX will also host refreshments during the Day 2 exhibit hall break from 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM. Stop by the exhibit hall to grab a refreshment, meet the teams, and experience the technology inside Booth #106.

Yunex Traffic

Yunex Traffic technology supports several areas represented at this year’s conference, including connected vehicles, adaptive traffic control, traffic management, and signal operations. Western Systems offers Yunex solutions ranging from roadside units and traffic controllers to SCOOT adaptive control and integrated traffic management platforms.

Siemens RUGGEDCOM

Reliable transportation technology also depends on reliable communications. Western Systems offers Siemens RUGGEDCOM industrial networking products designed for mission-critical applications and demanding environments. Together, these technologies demonstrate the broader idea behind the Western Systems booth this year: from cabinets to connected corridors.

SYO

SYO is an intelligent maintenance and operations ecosystem that provides near real-time visibility into traffic signal infrastructure. It allows supervisors and technicians to quickly detect issues, review device status, and resolve faults across EDI signal monitors. By centralizing system monitoring and diagnostics, SYO helps agencies improve reliability and streamline intersection operations. Cabinet equipment and backup power all contribute to the larger transportation network.

Start the Conference on the Golf Course

Before the technical sessions begin, ITS California is hosting its 10th Annual Golf Outing on Sunday, September 27 at Whitney Oaks Golf Course in Rocklin.

Check-in begins at 6:30 AM, with the outing beginning at 7:30 AM. The event includes a friendly best ball competition with transportation colleagues before the conference gets underway. ITS California notes that all skill levels are welcome.

It is a great opportunity to reconnect with industry colleagues and start the conference with some informal networking before heading into several days of sessions and demonstrations.

Experience the Technology in Sacramento

The ITS California Annual Conference is an opportunity to see technologies in action and talk directly with the people developing and deploying them. Western Systems is looking forward to connecting with agencies, partners, transportation professionals, and industry colleagues throughout the conference.

Visit Western Systems at Booth #106 to test drive the technology, explore interactive demonstrations, and see how solutions from Currux Vision, INRIX, Yunex Traffic, RUGGEDCOM, and other Western Systems partners can help move transportation from individual cabinets to connected corridors.
