Connecting With Transportation Leaders at the 2026 ITE Mountain District Annual Meeting

Western Systems will attend the 2026 ITE Mountain District Annual Meeting from June 10–12, 2026, at the High Country Conference Center in Flagstaff, Arizona. We are proud to support the event as a Humphreys Peak Sponsor and will be available at Booth 17 throughout the conference.

Supporting a Regional Gathering of Transportation Professionals

The ITE Mountain District Annual Meeting brings together engineers, planners, public agencies, consultants, and traffic technology teams from across the region. This year’s meeting in Flagstaff creates space for practical conversations about signal operations, ITS planning, connected vehicle readiness, and safer movement through growing communities. Western Systems is looking forward to meeting with the people shaping transportation infrastructure across the Mountain District.

Visit Western Systems at Booth 17

Attendees can find Western Systems at Booth 17 during the conference. Our team will be available to talk through real project needs, including signal cabinets, corridor reliability, backup power, adaptive traffic control, detection, and connected vehicle technology. The focus will be on helping agencies match the right traffic solutions to the conditions they manage every day.

Session Spotlight: How Connected Signals Save Seconds and Lives in Phoenix

Western Systems will participate in the technical session “9A.2 How Connected Signals Save Seconds and Lives in Phoenix” on Friday, June 12, from 10:00–10:30 AM. The session is part of Track 9A: ITS/Planning, moderated by Carl Vermillion, and will feature Joe Marioni and Donald Wang as speakers. The presentation will focus on how connected signals can support faster response, better intersection awareness, and safety-focused operations in Phoenix.

A Conference Built Around Technical Learning and Field Experience

The 2026 meeting includes a robust technical program covering topics such as connected and automated vehicles, signal timing, transportation cybersecurity, high-injury networks, transit planning, and safety operations. These are the kinds of discussions that help agencies compare field experience, improve system uptime, and plan for infrastructure that performs under real-world conditions. For transportation teams, the value is in hearing what other regions are testing, refining, and putting into daily operation.

What to Do in Flagstaff

Flagstaff, AZ, offers plenty to explore beyond the technical program, from Historic Route 66 and a walkable downtown to local shops, restaurants, breweries, and live events in Heritage Square. Conference guests can also visit Lowell Observatory, where Pluto was discovered, or spend time outdoors among the ponderosa pines in Coconino National Forest. For those extending the trip, nearby destinations include the Grand Canyon, Walnut Canyon, Sunset Crater Volcano, Meteor Crater, Williams, and Sedona.

Keeping the Focus on People, Reliability, and Public Benefit

Western Systems approaches events like ITE Mountain District as an opportunity to listen to the agencies and professionals doing the work in the field. Reliable traffic operations depend on the people who maintain intersections, respond to outages, coordinate signals, and plan safer corridors. Our role is to support that work with durable infrastructure, practical technical expertise, and solutions built around the needs of public agencies and the communities they serve.
